CFPB Requests Action on Debt Collection Scheme
The CFPB, joined with New York Attorney General Letitia James, filed a complaint to try and seize a $1.6 million home which was transferred from Douglas MacKinnon (alleged debt collection scheme perpetrator) to his wife and children for $1. The CFPB insists the transaction be declared void and the house used to partially pay for MacKinnon's outstanding debt. [4/23/21]
