CFPB Joins in Fining Bank of America
The CFPB ordered Bank of America to pay more than $100 million to customers as well as $90 million in fines to the CFPB and $60 million to the OCC. These fines were for violations such as double-dipping on overdraft and insufficient funds fees, withholding reward bonuses for credit card customers, and misappropriating sensitive personal information to open accounts without customer knowledge or authorization.
